Outcomes of the Workshop "Best Practices for Ensuring Transparency of Beneficial Ownership of Legal Entities"
From July 7 to 9, 2026, the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development provided technical assistance for a workshop in Bishkek on best practices for ensuring transparency of beneficial ownership of legal entities. The workshop brought together government officials and private sector representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic. An officer of the Secretariat of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (EAG) served as an expert and moderator of the sessions, while international experts took part as lecturers.
The workshop was organized to help prepare the country for the third round of the EAG Mutual Evaluations and to strengthen the knowledge and skills of practitioners in the Kyrgyz Republic's national system for combating the financing of criminal activity and the legalization (laundering) of proceeds of crime (AML/CFT) in identifying, verifying, and analyzing beneficial ownership information. Based on the outcomes of the training, the experts developed proposals to prepare for the upcoming visit of EAG assessors.
