Eurasian Development Bank holds another round of consultations with Tajik authorities to prepare a financial credit from the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund

Moscow, 21 July 2014. A team of Eurasian Development Bank, ACF Resources Manager, visited Dushanbe on July 10-14, 2014 to continue consultations with Tajik authorities to prepare a medium-term programme of economic reforms to be supported with a financial credit of the ACF. The agreed version of the programme is expected to be presented for the consideration of the Anti-Crisis Fund Council in Q4 2014.

During the visit, the team met with the management of the Ministry of Finance and the National Bank of Tajikistan and representatives of international financial organisations. Based on the discussions, the parties will further update the key parameters of the programme aimed at improving the resilience of the economy to external and internal shocks. The key areas of reforms include maintaining the macroeconomic stability, improving the quality of the public finance management, and developing the financial sector.

The EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund (ACF) amounting to US $8.513 billion was formed on 9 June 2009 by the governments of the same six countries. The objectives of the ACF are to assist the member countries in overcoming the consequences of global financial crisis, ensure their economic and financial stability, and foster integration processes in the region. The ACF member countries signed the Fund Management Agreement with Eurasian Development Bank giving it the role of the ACF Resources Manager.
