EFSR and KazAID will promote sustainable economic growth and development in the region

November 8, 2024. Andrey Shirokov, Managing Director of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilisation and Development (EFSD), and Arken Arystanov, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development «KazAID», and signed a framework memorandum of understanding between the two institutions. The purpose of joint work is to promote sustainable economic growth and development in the region of operations common to KazAID and EFSR.

The Parties discussed possible joint areas of work, including funding of project activities, organisation and implementation of joint events, and promoting sustainable and balanced growth of the beneficiary states.

The Kazakhstan Agency of International Development “KazAID” under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Kazakhstan was established by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. KazAID is an operator in the field of official development assistance (ODA). KazAID implements the state policy in the field of ODA, promotes development and sustainable growth in partner countries, promotes Kazakhstan's achievements in various fields, facilitates the exchange of experience and establishment of contacts between specialists from different countries.

The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) is a regional financing arrangement totaling over US $9 billion, established in 2009 by the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Tajikistan.  The EFSD aims to promote economic and financial stability in its member states and support their sustainable development.
