EFSD Participates in IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings
A delegation from the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD, the Fund) attended the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group, held on April 13–18, 2026, in Washington, D.C. The Fund participates in these meetings on a regular basis as a permanent observer.
During the visit, EFSD officials held a series of meetings with international development partners, discussing the current economic outlook across the region as well as project financing.
EFSD Chief Economist Sergei Ulatov spoke at the Eurasian Roundtable, attended by representatives of central banks and finance ministries from across the region. In his remarks, he presented an assessment of the economic conditions in EFSD member states, drawing on forecasts from the spring edition of the EFSD Regional Economic Review.
A particular focus was placed on preliminary findings from two major EFSD research projects examining labor market transformation in the region and the long-term growth potential of member economies. The full results are scheduled to be presented at the EFSD International Economic Conference on October 29, 2026, in Astana, Kazakhstan. Further details on the date and agenda will be announced in due course.
The next IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings are scheduled for October 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. On the sidelines of that event, the Fund plans to participate in the annual meeting of heads of regional financing arrangements and the IMF, aimed at strengthening coordination within the Global Financial Safety Net.
