EFSD International Economic Conference to Take Place in Astana on October 29

On October 29, 2026, the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) will hold an  International Economic Conference in Astana entitled Towards Balanced Economic Development.

The event is designed around high-level expert discussion and will bring together deputy ministers and deputy governors of national banks from across the region, as well as officials of international financial organizations and the academic community to discuss practical issues of economic policy.

"The EFSD International Economic Conference is intended to serve as a platform for professional exchange of views on long-term structural changes in the region's economies. We expect the conference to bring together leading experts and heads of financial policy departments to seek solutions that ensure sustainable economic development across the countries of Eurasia," said Iaroslav Mandron, Managing Director of the EFSD.

The conference's main sessions will feature the presentation of the EFSD's flagship research report on the labor markets of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, along with expert discussions on estimating potential GDP and identifying the key drivers of long-term economic growth in the region.

The EFSD study draws on an analysis of both macro- and microlevel data and examines the relationship between demographic trends, labor productivity, employment, and economic growth. It also offers recommendations for creating high-productivity jobs and making effective use of the region's labor potential.
