EFSD Project Block visits Tajikistan with a monitoring mission

The Project Block of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) managed by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) visited Tajikistan with a mission from 9 to 12 July 2019 to conduct regular macroeconomic monitoring and discuss further cooperation under EFSD financial credits.

The mission met with Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, Minister of Finance of Tajikistan, experts of the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of Tajikistan, the State Investment Committee, the Tax Service, the Customs Committee, the Ministry of Energy, and the Barqi Tojik state energy holding. The team also had meetings with heads of representative offices and experts of international donors, including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, to coordinate operations and discuss important reforms in Tajikistan.

In the course of negotiations, the sides expressed their satisfaction with their joint efforts to prepare the final report on the completed programme of the Government of Tajikistan supported with a financial credit from the EFSD. They also indicated an interest in promoting cooperation further as part of preparations for a potential new programme.
